Announcing Our New Grade 4 Teacher

We welcome Melanie on board The Oxford School family, and look forward to the amazing year ahead with all our returning and new faculty for the upcoming new year.

MELANIE KLEEBAUM
Grade 4

Melanie was raised in Kincardine, Ontario before leaving to attend Lakehead University in Orillia. As soon as she graduated from the first standing class from that university she was fortunate to work as a teacher in England due to being a dual citizen. She has been a teacher in England for over 8 years teaching years 4, 5 and 6 giving her the ability to earn experience in many different areas of the curriculum. She has even been a part of setting up a library, developing a new curriculum and coaching a soccer team. Teaching in England allowed her to travel and see different parts of the world. She loved experiencing new cultures and soaking in all the history. She is now very excited to be returning to Canada and begin her journey teaching at The Oxford School.

In her spare time, you will either catch her with her nose in a good book or doing something active like running or going for a hike. She has a personal goal to be able to run a half marathon one day. She is passionate about being a lifelong learner and this is a passion she hopes to instill in the children she teaches.

Her inspiration for being a teacher comes from the desire to make a difference. She believes that children need somebody to believe in them and push them to strive to reach their potential. She believes every child has unlimited potential to reach whatever they desire. She wants to be the teacher that helps students realize this and wants to develop a positive mindset in all the children and create a safe atmosphere for children to learn and develop.
