Learning Support Strategy

The Oxford School strives to deliver an academically rigorous education within small class size framework. While maintaining high expectations, we also provide assistance that ranges from supporting students with reading, writing and math development, to teaching learning strategies such as good study habits, test taking skills, and organization and time management techniques.

As a school, we are committed to assisting students with learning exceptionalities and reaching their potential in an inclusive, supportive, consistent and sustainable learning community.

Each student's individual needs are supported through accommodations. All teachers provide accommodations for individual needs, in all classrooms. Providing this support inside their classrooms encourages our students to take ownership over their education and become advocates for their own personal success.

The Oxford School support team is committed to:

  • Helping students identify areas of strength and areas of challenge

  • Helping students develop learning strategies that work for them

  • Helping students with organizational, time management and learning useful studying strategies

  • Supporting students with reading, math and writing skill development

  • Working closely with faculty and advisors

  • Communicating and meeting with parents

All students in the school have daily access and interaction with members of our support team to ensure they are on the road to success. Some students are directly referred by their teachers or are identified by parents as needing assistance or accommodations to achieve success. If your child requires small group or one-on-one attention we have a Resource Teacher that will be able to assist the student and or teacher in or outside of the classroom.

If you are interested in learning more about strategy support for your child, contact your child's teacher directly or the Head of School.
